Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Pyramid Designer

November 2025 | Bishop Fenwick High School Drama Club

To build these custom fixtures, I first designed custom 3D printed brackets (left) to fit double-sided aluminium LED raceway (right)

A round bracket used to hold LEDs in LED raceway inside of a PVC pipes LEDs inside LED raceway, layed out on a table.
Then, with the help of the brackets, the raceway was suspended inside clear PVC pipes, which were sanded and covered with spandex sleeves, and then mounted onto rolling platforms with the use of tie line and more custom 3D printed brackets.

Finally, each tube was given an individual channel on a DMX LED decoder, and powered with a portable battery, so the platforms could be freely moved about the stage, and each tube could be controlled individually, which would look like a solid tube of light from the audience.
